Samsung Galaxy I9000

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 19 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

The Samsung Galaxy i9000 is also known as Samsung Galaxy S or even as Samsung Galaxy i9008 – the latter code is being used for the Chinese market. This phone has been released in the summer of 2010 and you don't only buy a single model like it happens with most phones, but there is a whole family of about 20 products available out there. However, some of them haven't been yet released, or are just rumored. Many of the products have been released for a specific area (like for China, Brazil) or fro a certain service provider: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and so on. You should be careful which model you buy, because not all of them have the same features.

This international version is compatible with the GSM and with the  HSDPA networks, each for a specific protocol: GSM for the 2G and HSDPA for the 3G protocol. As you well know -or suspect – this is a smartphone, and runs the Android 2.1 operating system. You can update the OS to the more recent versions, for more flexibility. There is an ARM Cortex-A8 processor, as well as 512 MB of system memory to help you perform more tasks at the same time.

What you might find curious, is the fact that you can choose this mobile phone with 8 GB of internal storage room, or with 16 GB of storage, similar to the iPhone.

And if you saw many other smartphones with no radio and you wanted one which has it, then you can just choose this Samsung Galaxy S, because you have FM RDS radio already installed. You also have GPS support, so that you don't get lost while searching for an unfamiliar address. This international version of the Galaxy S has 2 cameras, while many of the models designed for various carriers only have the main one.

Iphone 4 Versus Samsung Galaxy Captivate Phone

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 19 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Only hearing Apple iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy Captivate put together in the same sentence, one would most likely choose, or prefer the iPhone. However, no matter who you are, you should take a minute and compare the 2 of them to see if your choice is a fashion choice or one with a deeper understanding of the 2 devices. You have to know the specs for both in order to be able to choose, so stick around.

You might like the Apple's iPhone display more, but there are many out here who like the Samsung's more. The iPhone has a 3.5 inch LED backlit IPS TFT, capacitive touchscreen while the Samsung has a 4 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display. While the type might not be important for other people, size is. The screens have different features, but the Captivate has one more than the iPhone.

You should know that both phones use the same networks for communication, and the main camera has 5 MP on both devices. The difference lies in the fact that there is no secondary camera for the Captivate, which gives an extra point to the iPhone.

Maybe for you the internal storage is not important, but the iPhone can have either 16 GB or 32 GB storage, while the Galaxy Captivate can only have 16 GB of storage, plus a 32 GB microSD: you decide which is better.

The operating systems can't really be compared, but you get the iOS 4 on the iPhone and Android 2.1 on the Captivate. You can update both of them, even if the process might be complicated. Both devices use the same processor and have the same system memory size (512 MB), but use a different chipset.

If you check out the spec sheet for both phones, you will see that there are more features and functions pre-installed on the Captivate, but some of them can be installed on the iPhone, from the iTunes App store.

How To Set Up Mulitple Email Accounts On Samsung Galaxy

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 18 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Let's face it: today many of us have not one or 2 email accounts, but more of them, from more providers and with various purposes. at times it's really difficult to keep them organized, even on a laptop, let alone on a mobile phone.

You wouldn't believe just how easy it is to set up more email accounts on your Samsung Galaxy device. And if you really thought it is either impossible or very difficult, it means that you either didn't try or you heard some bad rumors. This article is meant to show you just how easy the process is, and you'll see you'll almost not want to check your emails on any other device.

How To Set Up Mulitple Email Accounts On Samsung Galaxy (Source: knowyourcell.com)

The first thing you need to know is that you'll be setting up POP3 and IMAP email accounts, and although it might sound similar to the Windows' Microsoft Outlook, it's not all that similar. This guide has it all explained, almost like for kids, and the basic line is that you need to locate the email app and to run it. Then you'll have to provide the email address, the password, and then a name so you can recognize it; all the while you will have to select “next” and “save” as appropriate. Here, the guide is retaken, without the pictures.

Of course, for more email accounts, you can just redo the steps, but if you do it incorrectly, you might discover that you erased the previous account. Maybe the best solution is to pay a visit to the Android Market and simply get more email apps as possible, because you simply can. It might be a little bit messy at first, but if the phone won´t allow you to use the same app for more accounts -like the iPhone does – this is your only option.

Listen Fm Radio Samsung Galaxy

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 16 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

There are many people who like to listen to the radio, and nowadays the most common frequency used for the radio broadcast is the FM one. People are listening to the radio no matter where they are, but most likely in their own car, while driving. But what happens when one has to travel by bus or by train, and they want to listen to their favorite FM radio station? They can, of course, use the phone (or smartphone) they own, so that they will not disturb the other passengers.

Luckily, the Samsung Galaxy S i9000 already has the radio feature installed, and not only it's an FM radio, it also has the RDS function installed. And if one browses around, they can see that almost all of the Samsung Galaxy S devices come equipped with the radio, except for the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate, sold by AT&T. This means that, one can listen to any radio station nation wide: local or national. You better read these tips and tricks for the best FM radio experience on your Samsung Galaxy S.

But what can one do if they want to listen to international radio stations, on the FM frequency? Most likely, traveling abroad just for this sounds silly. Also, if you don't live next to the border where the chances for this happen are higher, then you have to download an application. Luckily there are free of charge apps, as well as payed for apps. One such application is the Pandora internet radio, which can be downloaded from here, for free.

If you can't access the Pandora app in your location, search for other radio apps in the Android Market, because it is impossible not to find one which will meet your needs concerning the broadcast of foreign FM radio stations, from everywhere in the world.

Htc Wildfire Vs Samsung Galaxy Apollo

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 12 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Stay tuned for another head to head between the HTC Wildfire and the Samsung Galaxy Apollo … coming soon on your PC or laptop screen. Or you can just visit this link for the faster analysis.

It seems that this time, the newer device is the Samsung Galaxy Apollo because it was released in July 2010, while the HTC Wildfire was released in May of the same year. For this devices you can' really chose one over the other by screen size only: they have the same size, 3.2 inches. The size difference you can see if you measure them: one is longer, the other is wider, and there is also a 5 grams difference in their weight.

These 2 have the same type of screen, but the one with more functions belongs to the HTC Wildfire: they are double in number than on the Galaxy Apollo. But it can't be all good for the Wildfire because the Apollo can use 2 types of files as ringtones: MP3 and WAV, not to mention that it also has a DNSe = Digital Natural Sound engine.

Because HTC and Samsung released these 2 at about the same time, both phones run the same operating system: Android 2.1, which can be updated to 2.2 at the very least. What sets them apart is the processor: HTC used an ARM 11 and Samsung used a proprietary one – the Samsung S5P6422.

Do you like to take pictures? to record stuff, or even to use the camera while talking to others? HTC Wildfire comes equipped with a 5MP camera with a 2592 x 1944 pixels and the Samsung Galaxy Apollo has a 3.15MP camera with a 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution. The only common feature they have is the geo-tagging function, and they have only 3 functions each.

Htc Evo 4g Vs Samsung Galaxy S

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 12 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

The HTC EVO 4G smartphone is sold by Sprint and can only be compared to a similar phone made by Samsung, and that one is the Samsung Galaxy Epic 4G. And this is a similar phone because the Galaxy Epic 4G is also being sold by Sprint.

Htc Evo 4g Vs Samsung Galaxy S (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

If using more networks while communicating is a priority for you, then you better consider giving more points to the Galaxy Epic 4G: this is a dual band CDMA and HSDPA. The Epic 4G will also get points for being a few months more “fresh” than the mono band EVO 4G.

Who says that the size doesn't matter, then they aren't hot in the trends: one works better on a bigger surface, and this is what the HTC agreed on when they put a 4.3 inch display on their phone, compared to only 4.0 inch on the Samsung. However, you might feel the image looks better on the Samsung thanks to the 16 million color depth, while the EVO $G has only 65 thousand color depth. Another plus to the Epic's display: more features than the EVO's.

Htc Evo 4g Vs Samsung Galaxy S (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

But what will help us with, to know these screen details? In order to realize just how well our pictures will look and to know just how well will we be able to use the video calling function. It is up to you to decide which camera do you prefer: the 8MP one of the EVO with 3 features, or the 5 MP one of the Samsung with 5 functions. Also the secondary camera of the HTC device is 1.3 MP while the other phone has a VGA camera.

Both phones run the same Android OS version, but the processors are different. It also appears that even though both smartphones belong in the same price range, the Samsung has generally more functions than the HTC.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7′

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 10 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Samsung released a tablet in the Galaxy line which thankfully comes in more sizes so that one could choose the size they feel most comfortable with. The Samsung Galaxy Tab which has a 7.0 inch screen comes in 5 flavors, and you will get to know a little bit about each of them so you'll see if any of them will spark your interest.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7' (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

1. First of all, the international version, the Galaxy Tab p1000. This tablet has voice communication functions, just like a mobile phone, 2 cameras, and its operating system is by default Android 2.2. This is dual band device, comes on black and gray and has many functions which should be checked out.

2. Second, we have the Galaxy Tab CDMA, which has very similar features as the other one. It is being sold by Sprint in the USA, but if you unlock it, you can use any other CDMA SIM card in it.

3. Another CDMA tablet, the Galaxy Tab 4G LTE, sold by Verizon since the end of July 2011. This tablet is expected to have faster data transfers than the other one, but it depends a lot on the coverage you get from this provider.

4. The 4th tablet from Samsung, is the one sold by T-Mobile, the Galaxy Tab T-Mobile. This Tab is also dual band, just like the first one, as well as many of the features seen on the other Tabs.

5. Lastly, you learn about the Galaxy Tab WiFi – p1010 – which doesn't have voice support for video calling. Because of this, you can think as if you have a larger iPod Touch, with 2 cameras. Most likely, the secondary one can be used in video-chatting, and there are some messengers which will allow the user to use voice communication,  like in Skype.

Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 8 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

The Samsung Galaxy Spica – i5700 – is sold in the United States by T-Mobile, and is it also goes by the names Samsung Galaxy Lite or Samsung Galaxy Portal. If you were considering getting a new mobile, then it could be this one, however, you need to know a little bit about it before deciding to purchase it or not.

This smartphone is a dual band one, but it is not compatible with the CDMA network, and it will never be, no matter what you do to it. What you can do is to use the 3G communication abilities, but not for the video calling: the secondary camera is not installed. The main one is a 3.15MP one, with geo-tagging and auto focus functions.

Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

The screen of this device is smaller than on other Samsung Galaxy S devices, only 3.2 inches. Since the spec sheet says nothing about the keyboard, you can safely assume it is not a QWERTY one.

You have to know that this smartphone's operating system is the Android 1.5 version, but it can be updated to the version 2.1 at the very least. The OS runs with the help of an 800 MHz processor. You can store up to 32 GB of important data, but only on the microSD with this storage ability, because the internal memory is of only 180 MB.

Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

The Samsung Galaxy Spica has many buttons for various sites integration: Youtube, Gmail and other Google products and services, so if you use them a lot, you will find them very useful. But this doesn't mean you can't add other apps that also interest you.

Now, probably what will convince you to buy it or not, are the user comments, so check them out on this page: after all many of them already used it and can tell what issues there are or not.

Spring Samsung Galaxy Specifications

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 8 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Don't get confused by the title because it doesn't refer to any season, but to the Sprint service provider and the Samsung Galaxy S they sell: it's just a typo. And because this was clarified, let's move on to finding out the specs for this smartphone. For those who don't already know it, the model sold by Sprint is the sliding Samsung Galaxy Epic 4G, which is a CDMA smartphone. However, this phone, works also with the 3G protocol, for which is dual band CDMA and HSDPA.

Spring Samsung Galaxy Specifications (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

This is the phone to go after if you like a real keyboard better than the virtual one, especially when having a pretty small touchscreen: 4.0 inches. For those who pay a great deal of attention to the display type, they need to know that the Epic 4G comes with a super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, a favorite among many.

Being a smartphone, there is an operating system, RAM memory and a processor which are supposed to give out the best. The OS is the Android 2.1 which can be upgraded, the processor is made by ARM, and it's a Cortex a8 one, while the RAM is of 512MB. This RAM size should give quite some power to the phone.

Spring Samsung Galaxy Specifications (Source: cdn.slashgear.com)

In order to store anything, you need to use the microSD, which can be of up to 32GB. What could one store? Pictures, music, videos, applications and maybe more. The pictures will most likely be the ones taken with the main 5MP one, which also has many functions: geo-tagging, touch and auto focus, LED flash and more. There is also a secondary camera installed which can be better used for video calling. Another feature of the Samsung Galaxy Epic 4G is the photo and video editor, so that you will be able to directly upload the pictures taken or the recorded videos.

If you are in the coverage area of the AT&T then you can get the Samsung Galaxy Infuse 4G, if not, then you can just read about it, or consider buying an unlocked version if you have coverage from another provider using the same radio waves (protocol) as AT&T – GSM and HSDPA. However there are still many other possibilities to connect to other devices: USB, Bluetooth just not an Infrared port.

The card slot will accommodate a microSD of up to 32 GB, in order to offer you the best possible storage.

And since this a 4G mobile phone, it will allow video communication too. The secondary camera has 1.3 MP for an improved image than other secondary cameras installed on other devices.

Specs Samsung Galaxy S Infuse 4g (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

This smartphone was released directly with the Android 2.2 operating system, so it offers the best apps and features possible, plus you know for sure it is a stable OS. Even more: you can of course update it, but his will take the phone out of its warranty.

The spec sheet of the Samsung Galaxy Infuse 4G mentions also a digital compass, media player for multiple media files, integration for many popular websites: picassa, youtube, Google and its services, and more.
