For many US citizens, one of the first thoughts they have when considering getting a Samsung Galaxy S is checking out Verizon. This company has one Samsung Galaxy cell phone available for the public: the Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate, and it is also known as the Samsung Galaxy CDMA, see it below.

This phone as the second name suggests, only works in the CDMA network, both in 2G and in 3G protocols. In order to get it for the lowest possible price ($100) you will need to visit the Verizon website. If you try to get this phone from the store then you'd pay $150, and you have to get a 2 year contract and a minimum of a 2GB data plan. This plan will cost you $30 per month.
The full retail price is $420, and if you get the contract and you want to terminate it before its due time, then you will have to pay a $350 fee. Not really worth it, is it?

Why do you want to get this model of Samsung Galaxy S, other than being available form a company that offers coverage in your area? Because you get an Android device, you get a 16 GB microSD card along with it and you also have GPS support. This phone offers 3G mobile hotspot for up to 5 other devices, but in order to use it you might need to get a special (additional) contract.
And if you don't like this phone, then you could wait around for the official announcement and release of the Samsung Galaxy S2 Function, which apparently will be available from Sprint as well. And if you don't want to wait around for a rumored phone, then Verizon still has other Samsung devices to offer and phones from other brands as well.
