Nokia 5140i Review

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 20 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Who said that only the currently available mobile phone can be reviewed? This Nokia 5140i was released in 2005, and today can't really be be seen as being used around like back in its days. This is because many want to keep up with the technology, and prefer buying smartphones or tablets with phone functions and features. If you too are one of these people, then you better stop reading now, other wise, you can continue the reading.

Even if some of the phones at that time could communicate even in the 3G environment, this wasn't the case for the Nokia 5140i. The only communication channel for this mobile phone was the GSM, accompanied by the Class 6 EDGE and by Class 10 GPRS. Back in those times, having an infrared port was something very common, but today this feature (or custom) died.

One of the things you could do with this phone was to play games, even if this was no games console. One could choose one of the games on the phone, or could download any other game. The trick was not to exceed the internal storage memory: 3.5 MB, and there was no card slot installed.

The image above shows a rear camera. There was nothing special about this camera because it was a plain VGA one, with almost no function. It was such a basic camera that it could only take pictures and record some short videos. There isn't much to be said about it, so you better check the link provided higher for more information.

Not sure if you had this phone, but it seems it is labeled as a mid range price one, but if people liked it, it is because for most part it acted like a phone and not like a computer.

Samsung Galaxy I9000

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 19 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

The Samsung Galaxy i9000 is also known as Samsung Galaxy S or even as Samsung Galaxy i9008 – the latter code is being used for the Chinese market. This phone has been released in the summer of 2010 and you don't only buy a single model like it happens with most phones, but there is a whole family of about 20 products available out there. However, some of them haven't been yet released, or are just rumored. Many of the products have been released for a specific area (like for China, Brazil) or fro a certain service provider: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and so on. You should be careful which model you buy, because not all of them have the same features.

This international version is compatible with the GSM and with the  HSDPA networks, each for a specific protocol: GSM for the 2G and HSDPA for the 3G protocol. As you well know -or suspect – this is a smartphone, and runs the Android 2.1 operating system. You can update the OS to the more recent versions, for more flexibility. There is an ARM Cortex-A8 processor, as well as 512 MB of system memory to help you perform more tasks at the same time.

What you might find curious, is the fact that you can choose this mobile phone with 8 GB of internal storage room, or with 16 GB of storage, similar to the iPhone.

And if you saw many other smartphones with no radio and you wanted one which has it, then you can just choose this Samsung Galaxy S, because you have FM RDS radio already installed. You also have GPS support, so that you don't get lost while searching for an unfamiliar address. This international version of the Galaxy S has 2 cameras, while many of the models designed for various carriers only have the main one.

Iphone 4 Versus Samsung Galaxy Captivate Phone

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 19 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Only hearing Apple iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy Captivate put together in the same sentence, one would most likely choose, or prefer the iPhone. However, no matter who you are, you should take a minute and compare the 2 of them to see if your choice is a fashion choice or one with a deeper understanding of the 2 devices. You have to know the specs for both in order to be able to choose, so stick around.

You might like the Apple's iPhone display more, but there are many out here who like the Samsung's more. The iPhone has a 3.5 inch LED backlit IPS TFT, capacitive touchscreen while the Samsung has a 4 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display. While the type might not be important for other people, size is. The screens have different features, but the Captivate has one more than the iPhone.

You should know that both phones use the same networks for communication, and the main camera has 5 MP on both devices. The difference lies in the fact that there is no secondary camera for the Captivate, which gives an extra point to the iPhone.

Maybe for you the internal storage is not important, but the iPhone can have either 16 GB or 32 GB storage, while the Galaxy Captivate can only have 16 GB of storage, plus a 32 GB microSD: you decide which is better.

The operating systems can't really be compared, but you get the iOS 4 on the iPhone and Android 2.1 on the Captivate. You can update both of them, even if the process might be complicated. Both devices use the same processor and have the same system memory size (512 MB), but use a different chipset.

If you check out the spec sheet for both phones, you will see that there are more features and functions pre-installed on the Captivate, but some of them can be installed on the iPhone, from the iTunes App store.

How To Set Up Mulitple Email Accounts On Samsung Galaxy

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 18 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Let's face it: today many of us have not one or 2 email accounts, but more of them, from more providers and with various purposes. at times it's really difficult to keep them organized, even on a laptop, let alone on a mobile phone.

You wouldn't believe just how easy it is to set up more email accounts on your Samsung Galaxy device. And if you really thought it is either impossible or very difficult, it means that you either didn't try or you heard some bad rumors. This article is meant to show you just how easy the process is, and you'll see you'll almost not want to check your emails on any other device.

How To Set Up Mulitple Email Accounts On Samsung Galaxy (Source: knowyourcell.com)

The first thing you need to know is that you'll be setting up POP3 and IMAP email accounts, and although it might sound similar to the Windows' Microsoft Outlook, it's not all that similar. This guide has it all explained, almost like for kids, and the basic line is that you need to locate the email app and to run it. Then you'll have to provide the email address, the password, and then a name so you can recognize it; all the while you will have to select “next” and “save” as appropriate. Here, the guide is retaken, without the pictures.

Of course, for more email accounts, you can just redo the steps, but if you do it incorrectly, you might discover that you erased the previous account. Maybe the best solution is to pay a visit to the Android Market and simply get more email apps as possible, because you simply can. It might be a little bit messy at first, but if the phone won´t allow you to use the same app for more accounts -like the iPhone does – this is your only option.

Nokia 6303 Classic Review

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 18 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

The Nokia 6303 classic is a quite a new phone, because Nokia released it in the spring of 2009. If you like the candy bar like phones and which have basic phone functions, you can consider buying this phone. But before rushing to the first store, stick around for some information about it, so you make sure this is indeed something that you're searching for.

Nokia 6303 Classic Review (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

Mentioning that this is a phone with basic functions, also means that the only network used is the GSM one, under the 2G protocol. other networks used for communication are the GPRS and the EDGE networks, with Class 32 for each. The screen has a pretty standard size: 2.2 inches and the technology used for it is TFT with 16 million color depth.

Most people today rely on the microSD for data storage when it comes to their cell phones, because few of them have 32 GB of internal storage.  Well, to warn you, this phone doesn't really have internal storage room: only 17 MB. you should rely on the (maximum) 4 GB microSD card of the phone – you receive one of 1GB in the package when you buy the phone.

Nokia 6303 Classic Review (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

You'll probably be more satisfied with the 3.15 MP camera, because it has dual LED flash and autofocus, if your hand is not quite steady. It should not even be mentioned, but there is no secondary camera installed, it would be pointless.

In order to help you not get bored, Nokia installed the technology needed for the FM stereo radio, and it also has the RDS function. Among the more interesting “entertainment” function, the games and the media player are listed. There are 4 games installed, but you can get others if you don't like those ones. The media center is mostly dedicated to music: MP3, WMA, WAV and eACC+ music files.

Nokia 5610 Review

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 18 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

There are 2 versions of the Nokia 5610 (XpressMusic) mobile phone – US version and international version – but some say there is also a Chinese version. the various versions are recognized mainly by the network used for communication. And, now, let's see which networks are being used for communication on this phone: GSM (in 2G, with these frequencies 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz) and UMTS (for the 3G protocol).

Nokia 5610 Review (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

This is a slide phone, as you can see, but it is not a smartphone, so it doesn't have many functions of one. The screen on this phone might seem a little bigger than on other basic phones made by Nokia, but the truth is that the size if it's not the same, it's very similar: 2.2 inches. The technology used is TFT, and the color depth is the maximum possible – 16 million.

Because this is a phone in the XpressMusic line, you can use more types of ringing tones, and the videos are included. And of course, you need to store them, but you can't really count on the phone's memory, so Nokia has designed this phone to be compatible with a microSD of maximum 8 GB.

Nokia 5610 Review (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

If you really have to know what type of media files you can play on this phone, here they are: MP3 and MP4, AAC, eAAc and WMA. The best part is that you can use almost all of them as ringing tones.

Because, maybe, staying in touch with your family and friends is more important to you, there is a secondary, VGA camera installed on this phone, so you can make video phone calls, whenever the coverage allows you. The main camera is a 3.15 MP one, with few functions and features.

The last thing you might be interested in about this phone, is the users' comments on it: click here for them.

Many people don't like to use any case (especially snap on) on their phones, tablets or even laptops. However, they might prefer the sleeve cases or other carry bags, but one thing is for sure: everybody hates the oily fingerprints on the screen of their devices. This article will present the Scosche Satin Shield in a pack of 2, but of course, you might find other screen protectors, made by other brands.

Scosche Samsung Galaxy Tab Satinshield 2 Pack Anti-glare (Source: datavis.com)

This screen protector will offer great anti glare protection, a feature which many are searching for. You shouldn't be afraid of using this screen shield because you won't even feel it on the screen of your Tab and you will be able to use the device as if it didn't have anything on. But, of course, if after some time you might notice that it doesn't stick the same way, or that the screen doesn't respond the same way, you will have to replace it.

First off, you have the datavis website selling the Scosche Satin Shield for the set price of $15, and the site prefers paypal or amazon payments as paying options. Of course the item is brand new and has the factory's seal, while coming with Full USA Warranty. The maximum time for shipping is 3 days.

A second website selling the Scosche Satin Shield in a pack of of 2 is snagstuff. Here the  selling price is on sale, of $26 (the shipping is not included) and you also get a little bit more details on the product. For instance, you get the product's code number (DR9750_AGSG) as well as finding out that the package contains a cleaning cloth for the screen, made of microfiber.

Even if you choose not to buy the pack presented here, now you know a litle bit more about the product, and if you liked it a little bit you could recommend it to someone who might really need or want it.

Otterbox For Samsung Galaxy Phones

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 16 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Otterbox is a very very well known brand of accessories for mobile phones. The cases they make are of high quality, because they make sure to deliver the best possible product. As you will be able to tell, they don't have very attractive cases as all of them, thanks to the color – black – seem dull looking. Let's see where can you get an Otterbox case for your Samsung Galaxy phone, and for how much.

Otterbox For Samsung Galaxy Phones (Source: demandware.edgesuite.net)

Maybe the first stop would be the official website for the Otterbox products. One has a chance out of 14 to find a case for the device you own, and there is also a case intended for the use on a Samsung Galaxy Tab. Other than the case for the Tab, one can find cases for their Samsung Galaxy Captivate, Vibrant, Fascinate, Infuse 4G, Epic 4G, Galaxy S2 and more. The Galaxy Captivate phone is quite lucky to receive one out of 3 possible Otterbox cases. There are even 3 different prices to help you differentiate among them, starting at $20 and ending with $50.

Otterbox For Samsung Galaxy Phones (Source: ak.buy.com)

Even if the Tab is not technically a phone, some models can function just like a phone, and this is mostly true for the ones with a 7.0 inch screen. And that is why you read about a case for it. However, the case you see right above is nowhere to be found on the official site, so you can only get it from here, for $52.

What you should know is that the Otterbox cases offer 3 layers of protection for your phone and even so, they are not bulky. Most of them are snap on cases. Thanks to the materials used in their manufacturing, these cases will not scratch your device by accident when putting them on or taking them off either, and you have full access to all od the phone's functions and buttons.

Listen Fm Radio Samsung Galaxy

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 16 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

There are many people who like to listen to the radio, and nowadays the most common frequency used for the radio broadcast is the FM one. People are listening to the radio no matter where they are, but most likely in their own car, while driving. But what happens when one has to travel by bus or by train, and they want to listen to their favorite FM radio station? They can, of course, use the phone (or smartphone) they own, so that they will not disturb the other passengers.

Listen Fm Radio Samsung Galaxy (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

Luckily, the Samsung Galaxy S i9000 already has the radio feature installed, and not only it's an FM radio, it also has the RDS function installed. And if one browses around, they can see that almost all of the Samsung Galaxy S devices come equipped with the radio, except for the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate, sold by AT&T. This means that, one can listen to any radio station nation wide: local or national. You better read these tips and tricks for the best FM radio experience on your Samsung Galaxy S.

Listen Fm Radio Samsung Galaxy (Source: cdn2.staztic.com)

But what can one do if they want to listen to international radio stations, on the FM frequency? Most likely, traveling abroad just for this sounds silly. Also, if you don't live next to the border where the chances for this happen are higher, then you have to download an application. Luckily there are free of charge apps, as well as payed for apps. One such application is the Pandora internet radio, which can be downloaded from here, for free.

If you can't access the Pandora app in your location, search for other radio apps in the Android Market, because it is impossible not to find one which will meet your needs concerning the broadcast of foreign FM radio stations, from everywhere in the world.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Phone

Alina Gica Dorobantu On August - 13 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

If you're familiar with the Samsung Galaxy S or Tab products, and then you might be a little bit confused. However, the tablets produced by the Samsung – at least some of them – can be used as smartphones too, because they have that function installed. And there are about half of the released models that have this function, so you too can find the one that will fit your needs best. All the tablets with voice calling functions have a 7.0 inch screen.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Phone (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

The first option is the international version, the Samsung Galaxy Tab p1000. This device is a dual band: GSM and HSDPA, and can use both the 2G and the 3G protocols. not only this, but you can also enjoy the video calling feature, thanks to the secondary camera. And because it has quite some default features, you might think you're using a mini laptop. The maximum storage is of 62 GB, but half of that is internal.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab T-Mobile is more than obvious where you can find it. The networks used are the same ones as on the international version, it also has a secondary camera (1.3 MP) andi t probably has almost the same features as the original (p1000).

Samsung Galaxy Tab Phone (Source: st2.gsmarena.com)

Just how can one stay away from the CDMA network? The simple answer is “they can't” and the complex answer is” by not buying the Samsung Galaxy Tab CDMA sold by Sprint. The downside: the limited storage room: 34 GB, and 2 GB internally.

Related to the above question, they should also avoid the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G LTE, if they don't like the CDMA network. This Tab is sold by Verizon. It has the same disadvantage as the one from Sprint, but the hardcore fans will not be disturbed much about this issue.
