Nokia 3310 Review

Mobile Phone 3 On June - 28 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Even if this cell phone, the Nokia 3310, was released in the last year of the 20th century, it most definitely wasn’t the phone of the century. Maybe for you this cell phone, only by the looks is as boring as a desert, but back in those times new mobile phones weren’t released or updated almost every day, like nowadays, even if we are talking about 11 years ago.

The screen of this Nokia 3310 cell phone is a monochrome graphic one, because the technology for color screens on the cellphones wasn’t yet available. It could only show 5 lines at a time, it had a welcome message for when you would turn on the device, it had screen savers, dynamic font size and that was about it with the display’s features.

All of the contacts of a person were being stored on the SIM card, however the number of entries was very limited, and one would have had to be very selective. The phone also had some message templates saved, so one would only do a little bit of editing, adding the sender and then push the “send” button.

It was pretty common for those time to released in more colors in order to try and offer variety in the products. there were even 4 games installed on it, but of course one could not get rid of any, nor install others. This Nokia 3310 had only one version, the international one, working only in the 2G protocol, in the GSM network.

And quite honestly, you will not believe just how many people found this cell phone as “the best ever created”. But of course, for the American citizens, nowadays, this is hard to believe especially because they can’t even try it out, even if they still manage to buy it.

Dimensions Samsung Galaxy S Infuse 4g

Mobile Phone 3 On June - 28 - 20111 COMMENT

Because the title sounds ambiguous, a little explanation is needed. If you don’t live in the United States you may not know that the Samsung Infuse 4g is not a model of the Galaxy line. This means it’s comparison time, between the Galaxy S and the Infuse 4G, but only regarding one aspect: their sizes. And for better understanding, 2 models of the Galaxy S will be used: the international one (i9000) and the AT&T model (i897 Captivate) because the Infuse 4G is an AT&T release.

The screen size of the Infuse 4G is bigger that on the other 2 models, which have the same screen size – and we are talking about 4.5 inches and 4.0 inches. This gives more space for the fingers to use the controls, apps and what not. Very closely related to the size of the screen is its resolution. And in this section there is not a single difference because no matter which device you hold, the resolution will be the same, in all positions: 480 by 800 pixels.

The lightest of them all is the Samsung i897 Captivate at 118 grams, followed by the international version i9000 with 119 grams and the Infuse 4G with 139 grams. However, it is because of the screen that this cell phone has, which also influences the last dimensions: outer measurements.

Dimensions Samsung Galaxy S Infuse 4g

Dimensions Samsung Galaxy S Infuse 4g

The Infuse 4G measures 132 mm long by 71 mm wide by 9 mm thick, while the other two are equally big: 122.4 x 64.2 x 9.9 mm. These measures make the Samsung Infuse 4G the thinnest one, and thus giving the impression of being very fragile. If you too feel this smartphone as fragile, make sure to always pay attention to where you keep and leave it lay so that you don’t sit on it and break it.

Nokia 3120 Classic Review

Mobile Phone 3 On June - 27 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

It is not very clear what are the people at Nokia thinking when they reinterpret some old models of the mobiles they created. Take for instance Nokia 3120 Classic and you’ll know what this means. There is another version of this cell, an older one -by 4 years, which bears the name Nokia 3120. Nokia 3120 classic was released in 2008 in 2 versions: American version and international version, so that people everywhere can enjoy it. But it seems that the difference comes for the 3G protocol mostly, while for the 2G it is not clear if there is any difference between the versions.

Above you can see the image of one of the colors in which this cell phone was released (out of 4 colors) and you can see there is a secondary VGA camera for video calling. The main 2 MP camera will allow you to take pictures with the highest possible resolution of 1600 x 1200 pixels. As a video camera, it only works as a VGA one. The images and the videos will probably be pretty defined considering that the 2.0 inch TFT screen has 16 million colors.

But where do you keep the pictures and the videos you took? Until you get to transfer them to your PC, you can keep them on an 8 GB microSD card.

The Nokia 3120 classic is not a smartphone, but can play some music and video files, you can surf the internet with it, listen to the radio, play some games, and maybe even more than this.

Whatever you do, remember that you can’t store more than 2,000 contacts on this cell phone, so if you think you have more contacts than this, it is better to carry an agenda as well (or to buy a different mobile phone).

Nokia 5220 Review

Mobile Phone 3 On June - 27 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Nokia 5220 XpressMusic has been released in the summer of 2008 and you might still find this model in the specialized shops. The name tells us that this cell phone has some features specially meant for music play, so it is about time we find out which are those.

The special music features are the side dedicated buttons for music play, and if you want to boost the music experience even more then you should use the stereo widening, after you learn more about it and how to do it. And because one actually needs to have music to listen to and to realize the features of the Nokia 5220 Xpress music, you have 2 possibilities: either to listen to the stereo FM radio or store about 8GB of music on a microSD (or even on a SDHC).

Other features of this cell phone are the 2MP camera, on the back because there is only one installed. The images captured with this camera can be maximum 1600 x 1200 pixels in size; as a video recording camera, this is a QCIF recording camera.

In order to personalize your Nokia 5220 Xpress Music even further, other than choosing a proffered chassis color (out of red, green and blue) you could make your own wallpapers too.

In addition, if you don’t like the games found on this Nokia model, you can download your own, so you’ll be sure that you will never get bored, no matter where you are.

Nokia 3230 Review

Mobile Phone 3 On June - 25 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

The Nokia 3230 mobile phone is a candy bar like smartphone which also has a very pleasant appearance, however it is quite some time since it has been discontinued, because its release date is sometime in 2004.

There isn’t much to expect from this cell phone, but the features that it does have make it a pretty good phone for those times. The screen might not be very impressive with only 65 thousand colors, inside an 176 x 208 pixels area (or 2.1 inches) however one could have downloaded screensavers and wallpapers to personalize it.

Because the image above shows a camera as well, here are some details about it. For the time when it got released, it had a rather high resolution at 1280 x 960 pixels. As a video camera it was a QCIF type.

The beginning of this article mentioned that this cell phone was a “smart” type, and that is because it had an operating system, the Symbian 7.0. as well as a processor, just like any other smartphone from nowadays.

A curiosity in features, is the fact the although the radio was a stereo FM one, the MP3 player was only mono. It was mentioned that there is the possibility or recording some videos, which could be stored on the RS-MMC card, it the maximum duration was of 60 minutes.

There were two colors available for this phone, as the images can show you too, and the network (or protocol used) was 2G, the international one. there never was an US version or model of this Nokia 3230 cell phone.

To keep you from getting bored, the Nokia team prepared for you a pretty good Internet browser, with Java, as well as some games (Agent V, Warrior and Rally Pro), which you could have changed at will, by downloading some more.

Nokia 3210 Review

Mobile Phone 3 On June - 24 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

If one didn’t know better, judging by the model number, they would consider that this is a new release made by Nokia, about which they know nothing at all. However they couldn’t be more wrong! This cell phone is a 1999 release! Then why this article? because you might not know this phone, and you should see first hand just how much the technology advanced in only 10 years (or to be more precise, 13 years).

Here you can finally see Nokia 3210 on teal, however the user could buy other covers and change and combine the colors for a more personal look. Of course there are not many things to be said about this Nokia 3210 because the features were limited, or better said very limited.

Many might not even know what kind of screen there were available back in those time, but you are to find out that this cell phone had a monochrome graphic display as one can very well see from the image. We can’t mention an actual resolution or screen size, but we can reveal that there were only 5 lines to show at one time on it.

Below you can see few more colors in which this Nokia 3210 was manufactured, so that you can see it wasn’t a completely boring phone.

All of your contacts were saved on your SIM card, which could have only work (or be) a GSM one.

You could have only called or send text messages (and only SMS ones) to your contacts, while the call history could only show you 8 of each of these situations: missed calls, dialed numbers as well as 8 received calls.

It is also unclear if anybody is still using this device, but you can find it out from this page.

Nokia 2600 Phone Review

Mobile Phone 3 On June - 24 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Surprise, surprise! If anyone is to ask you if you like the Nokia 2600, you can’t answer with an “yes” or a “no”, because you have to answer “Which one? The Nokia 2600 or Nokia 2600 classic?”. Next you’re going to find out a little bit about both of them, so that next time you can tell which one you like, exactly.

This image is of Nokia 2600 model, which was released in 2004 and currently it is not being  produced. With the very popular display type at the time, it will show you everything in colors, but there aren’t many supported. Many of the cell phone users like to have a screen saver active and if you are one of those owners, you could have had one to choose from the ones installed.

There were 2 colors available for this cell phone: green and blue, as well as 2 models: international version and US version, for the network differences. It was pretty easy to keep in touch with 200 of your contacts by either calling them or sending them text messages or EMS messages.

This golden cell phone is Nokia 2600 classic which was released in 2008 and if you’re lucky you can still buy it.  There are more differences between this model and the previous one, other than the color. One is in the type of display used for this one: TFT, with 65K colors. Another difference is that you can only get an international version, and that it has a little bit more functions.

You need to know that there is a VGA camera installed on this Nokia 2600 classic cell phone, that your contacts’ number increased to 1000 and that you can send them 3 types of different messages: SMS, MMS and emails. In addition you can choose one out of the 4 colors in which it was created (orange, blue, black and beige).

This is not all: there is also an Internet navigator, an FM radio next to the games, for more entertainment!

Review Nokia 6822

Mobile Phone 3 On June - 23 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

Nokia 6822 has been released in 2005, but it got discontinued, just like all the phones of that year. And when looking at it, many might think at this phone as belonging to some robot, or that it will transform into one: take a look at this phone right below, especially in the second image.

Just like many other cell phones of its time, this one too has an international version, as well as an US one: this means that it is most possible that one version will not work in the area for which the other one was made.

And in case the image is not very clear, you must know that the screen was rather small: 1.5 inches, colored (65K colors), and only showing 8 lines (of anything)  at a time. The VGA camera had a higher resolution than the screen (128 by 128 pixels):  640 x 480 pixels. This only offered the possibility of taking pictures and short videos, but their quality wasn’t impressive.

Maybe the QWERTY keyboard wasn’t something very common at the time, only BlackBerry phones, some Nokia models and few more had it, compared tot the today’s smartphones which all have it -virtually or otherwise. But luckily that feature was mostly used if you wanted to navigate the Internet, send messages -instant ones, or other types, depending on how you felt more comfortable typing. The round ball, is not a ball, is a 5-way joystick, which offered more flexibility in navigation.

You would be surprised to find out, but there are people who still use this cell phone and are still interested in it. You should also click here for more information about this original looking Nokia 6822. After all, a cell phone is meant to make phone calls, and that’s about it: if you want your office with you everywhere, go buy a laptop.

Specifications Reviews Nokia 1600

Mobile Phone 3 On June - 23 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

One distinct feature of this Nokia 1600 is represented by the transparent keys which make the phone easier to use in the dark, and on a long term because the letters won’t fade away.  There are a few things to be pointed out about Nokia 1600:

*it’s a very basic type mobile phone, meaning there isn’t even a camera installed on it.

*this model was aimed at a specific section of the population: those people who live in still developing countries.

*the first two features, had a great influence on its price, which was very low.

Another feature, not known by many, or by most is that some areas had different games installed than other areas, and this page explains why you didn’t get this or that game. However, the only constant is that they were 3 of them no matter where you would have bought this Nokia 1600.

The type of display this release got was a CSTN one, sized 1.4 inches, making it smaller than many other cell phones’ screens. It is not really known just how many people a person can know, or keep in contact with on a regular basis, but the Nokia 1600 allowed you to only have 200 contacts at hand, with its help. There is no card slot, but the internal memory is of 4MB, which means it is bigger than other models that only have half of this.

You can see just how big this device is, by having it compared to a credit card, and you should also know that it only weights 85 grams. Other than calling your friends and family, you could also send them short texts (SMS) or instant messages. Because of the areas intended for, the Nokia 1600 also had support for the major European languages as well as for the major Asian ones.

Mobile Phone Review Nokia 6070

Mobile Phone 3 On June - 23 - 20111 COMMENT

The first feature one would notice about this retired cell phone released by the Nokia company is its metallic look given by the silver color in which it was created. Nokia 6070 is a “kid” of the year 2006, however this doesn’t mean it was a bad phone. Taking a look at what it was equipped with, one will soon realize this wasn’t a smartphone, but merely a regular one, meant to perform phone calls and to send and receive messages.

Compared to most of today’s mobile phones (not including the smart ones) the Nokia 6070 come with a display type which is not used anymore: CSTN. Many phones nowadays show more colors than this model as well: 16 million versus the 65,000 which this one has. The screen size is only 1.8 inches, like many other cell phones’ screens of that time.

The picture below shows the camera installed onto this mobile, so let’s remember its features: it was a VGA one, with a rather small resolution at 640 x 480 pixels. The screen itself had an 128 x 160 pixels resolution. Because the camera was a VGA one, it also allowed the user to record small videos, and the phone also had a video player.

It should have been mentioned this already: there were two versions available, which will not even be named anymore because you already may have an idea about them.

So, you took funny pictures and short, funny videos with this Nokia 6070, but this wasn’t all the fun available at your fingertips! You could read your emails, send and receive IMs, play and download new games, as well as navigating the Internet, and not to forget the stereo FM radio to which you could listen as much as possible.

Now, you could read some more opinions, and then voice your own right on this page.
